The thing that kept popping in my head over and over
as I painted this was "Take better care of your toys!"
It's a life long bad habit. I must say I'm better with the
brushes than I used to be. The ones pictured are at least
6 months old. They are Dinosaurs compared to the old
days when I would forget to wash them and return to
find them petrified with dried paint. Acrylic at the time.

Great painting, it is hard to always take care of our brushes like we should.

Very real. Too bad you can't paint the dried paint out of the brushes for it to be real..but these look better than mine.
Sure miss seeing you Gwen, but this is a sweet little beauty that makes up for lost time!

Very nicely done, Gwen. Brush care is tough. And I hate to admit when one just needs to go in the trash.
I really like this, Gwen! My tubes of Gamblin look JUST like that! I have to say I religiously wash my brushes after every session, but it's a pain! Great painting.

I don't use expensive brushes for this reason. But what a Godsend it was a few years ago when a friend taught me that rubbing alcohol cleans dried acrylic off brushes. It takes some work in really bad cases, but even a brush that's a hardened clump can be saved.

great painting gwen! great to see you back. i have a brush problem too. i buy them and then hate to use them...why? because in a nano second they look like they're all having perpetually alarming bad hair days. they never stay nice. i've babied them, fed them, moisturized and conditioned them but to no avail. basically if i want to keep them nice, i can't use them!

Great painting! Funny, I like the radiant blue by Gamblin really well! I didn't know anyone else who uses those "radiant colors"!
I love this, and also love the Gamblin Radiant colors (the Radiant White is now my everyday white). This really made me smile - our daily work tools!
