6 x 6 oil on masonite nfs
This little piggy was one of the first paintings I
posted 2 years ago when I started my Blog. He
and his piggy wife, Salt, belonged to my dear
Grandma. I played with them for hours on end
and still consider them to be among my most
prized possessions. I know...weird. Let's just say
it doesn't take much to make me happy!

Adorable, Gwen and a really sweet story. I can relate to being easily entertained myself!
I tried to scroll down to see what you said when you first painted Mr. Pepper, but got vertigo instead! You have a lot to show for yourself! I have a lot to learn. The interesting thing I noticed as I scrolled back to the top quickly was that your work is so strong, it stood up and made a strong presence even as it flashed by. I'd say that's a pretty good statement.
Gwen, I have the cookie jar version of these, and it was my grandmother's too. I feel the same way as you about my cookie jar! :-)
Tout ce qui nous ramène à notre enfance est précieux... Joli petit cochon!!!
je vous souhaite de joyeuses fêtes avec de gros bisous.
I just love this little guy! I can see why he's a treasure. Hope you're well, and enjoy today!
Love the painting and the story. I can totally understand and relate to your story.
Quite the sweet little piggy!

It's all the happy memories that they bring back, which in it self is priceless.
FYI in case you are interested -the name of that particular design is Smiley the Pig and it is from Shawnee Pottery a long gone pottery company from SE Ohio. Hang on to him and eventually pass him on to children and grandchildren.
Lovely,
I've been doing research on happiness, and apparently small things give us the most satisfaction, so you are perfect.

He's wonderful!!!
I love this guy, and he has obviously been painted with love. Where is Mrs. Piggy? Did you paint her? Funny, my grandmother had a glass duck and lamb that I played with and cherished. My memories are still just as strong.
Beautiful little piggy, Gwen! Love the sweet story to go with it.
Embrace your inner weirdness....no kidding, that is a poster by my daughters locker in her middle school. I love it!
Very precious.
My Grandma was a Salt and Pepper shaker collector. I was allowed to play with certain ones, and would, like you said, play for hours!
