12 x 12 oil on masonite SOLD
I'm having a crazy week and haven't been able to
paint anything new. From the looks of it, it may be
next week before I can get back to work, so in the
meantime, here's a revisit of an older painting. Keeping
my fingers crossed that I'll be back at it sooner rather
than later!

Hi Gwen,
Love the painting, very luminous! You got some wonderful reflected light bouncing from the orange, very nice!
Your posts keep getting better and better.
I love this still life, especially the shine marks on the grapes and the strong shadow cast by the bowl!
It is nice to visit your blog again...I have been so busy that it is refreshing to see everyones work! Love the refections in the bowl and on the orange. The rim of decoration around the edge of the bowl is so sensitively done and adds to elegance of the painting!
Beautifully done, Gwen, love the orange reflection on the left. It is one of the reflections we all too often forget to paint, at least I know I do.
Perfect title for a beautiful painting, and I love revisiting your paintings!
Gwen, such beautiful light you have painted here. This is what I love in a subject. Well done!
Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of your painting! I enjoy seeing your work, even if it isn't totally current. I like the way the grapes tie in to the little floral design on the bowl. Also the yummy creamy color of the background. I hope you post again before your next painting session-which I hope is sooner rather than later!
You just reminded me of adding some fruit to my diet. The grapes are oh, so real and great shadows Gwen!
Lovely little piece!! I know the feeling of not being able to paint for any number of reasons. Getting back to it is always hard. Right now I am in post painting depression mode...finishing "To Tell a Story" took more out of me than I realized. I really really want to hire this great male model I know but he is very expensive and I have no money...nothing is selling these days! Then I have to remind myself that I am living a great life and am not living in one of those garbage dump sites like so many in Africa and the Philippines or other places of zero hope...get a grip, Karen! Hugs.
Love the bowl a perfect circle, not suprised it sold it's a beautifully perfect painting!
Beautiful, Gwen even if it is a revisited painting. Hoping your back soon.
I study and I study your paintings and I still am in awe and STILL want to grow up and paint like Gwen Bell.
I always say that life gets in the way. I have great intentions, make plans of what I'm going to paint and then life happens. Its something I have had to accept and be ok with and really appreciate the times when the studio can be a priority. My husband says that we have to be self centred, mono maniacal, self serving egocentrics to paint all the time. Sometimes wish I was born that way :-)
Lovely painting..can see why it sold.
I'm taking a still life class this semester...so I have a whole new appreciation for these little gems you paint!! Beautiful!
Beautiful painting, Gwen. Great shading...and the grapes look awesome.
Love the light on the orange and the reflected light in the bowl! That purple shadow is a wonderful compliment to the orange!
I love this piece Gwen, the light and reflections are fantastic.
I'm with you, I could write a book with all the crazy stuff happening in my life, painting is taking a back seat, nice to know we all face the same. I feel the older I get, the worse it is. I thought we were supposed to have more time now!
Love your fabrics and patterns you paint, they are so colorful and beautiful. Nice graphic quality.
I'm not surprised that this sold Gwen. It is so lovely.
XOBarbara
