6 x 6 oil on canvas SOLD
I got these eggs out and thought "Hummm...where have
I seen this color combination before?" Oh yeah! I have
some fabric with the exact same colors. Have you noticed
that green shelled eggs are turning up more and more with
the Organic ones?
Oddly enough, I already had this fabric out to use with another
salt and pepper set. Deer heads this time. They are really cute,
but I can't help thinking they look decapitated since it's only
the heads of a Buck and a Doe. Didn't want to do another weird
one right after the naked Island Girls!

You make me laugh...Probably a good thing to start the New Year off with laughter...we may need it! Happy New Year!!! Loved the Island Girls!
This is classic Gwen Bell!
Happy New Year Gwen! Deer heads? Maybe they need to be sitting on a slab of venison? (Oh I can already see a new year hasn't fixed my demented sense of humor...) Oh well, c'est la vie!
The fabric is perfect with these eggs. You have certainly painted the round shape...they just jump off of my blog list!
Happy New Year and Happy Painting!
Absolutely beautiful, Gwen! The fabric really sets off the lovely colors in the eggs. Terrific values on the eggs. The reflected light is just perfect. I'm running out of words!
I haven't seen a green egg yet, but I buy the brown eggs just because of their beauty. I need to paint some, too.
Eggs-actly! Perfect! And being eggs, they are just right for a New Year's Painting! Full of possibilities - for you! Warm wishes for a Happy year for you!
Très bel assortiment... après ces derniers repas festifs des oeufs sur le plat feront l'affaire...
Bisous ma chère Gwen et une très bonne année à vous.
This is more than a great eggs-ercise!
For me, this completes Carol Marine's "Breakfast" painting.... I wondered, when I looked at it, 'Where are the eggs?" Here they are!
I love this color combo, Gwen. And the eggs look so sensuous; beautiful colors in the shadows and highlights.

Gwen Gwen Gwen... you are always amazing me with your technical talent. I know how challenging painting such a smooth roundish object like an egg is and here you are delighting us with another fabulous painting. I look forward to another year of inspiration and awesomeness when visiting your blog in 2011.
Wonderful painting and I love the way the fabric just happened, just beautiful! Wishing you a very Happy New Year, my friend!
Gwen,
This is wonderful. I have always enjoyed your backgrounds and this one is really good. The eggs are so pretty and just the right values and colors! Then you put that fabric under them and its perfect! How do you do that and where do you get all this amazing fabric?
Wonderful wishes for a great 2011!
The colors of the eggs and the fabric work so well together. I truly am enjoying this painting.

These intricate little pieces amaze me Gwen, you give so much to each piece! Happy new year!!
Beautiful composition!
Hi Gwen,
A gorgeous painting. I think I've seen turquoise eggs, but never green.
Up here most eggs are either brown or white. Maybe our chickens are different. Happy New Year to you. I hope you are feeling much, much better.
