"Blue Vase"

6 x 6 oil on canvas panel SOLD

Got all ready to paint this little blue vase and realized
I had not purchased the white flower I planned on
putting with it. It looked too bare by itself so I decided
to dress it up with a necklace.

This is so beautiful with the translucent blue vase. I like that it has a necklace and no flowers. Very creative of you to do it. The colors in the fabric are lovely and you've done a great job of pairing it with this vase and the teapot before (which I love!).

I can't believe you spent time in this horrible heat to look for fabric. So dedicated! I'd be a limp rag in no time!

You have captured the transparency of the vase beautifully and the necklace is a perfect addition, I love your compositions all well balanced and very pleasing to the eye.

Glass, pearls, fabric - were you trying to make yourself crazy? You did a fantastic job! It makes me want to paint today, and I can't - WAH! I LOVE your shiny surfaces against patterned fabric.

The necklace is very effective and takes the place of little lacy flowers!

How creative of you Gwen, to think to drape a necklace on this cute vase. The reflections of the glass pickup the white beads. And as usual I love your patterned fabric.

This is fresh and lovely, both in the colors and the original idea of gracing the vase's neck with a necklace; outstanding, one of my favorites!

It's a beautiful blue glass vase. Nice touch with the necklace. Every time I come here, I feel like doing still life. All of your still life paintings are GREAT!

Hey Gwen! Just got back from holidays. Saw your vase when I was away but never had much computer time. LOVE it!! The glass is so pretty! And the pearls and chain are delicate and handled so sensitively - nice work!

Beautiful piece Gwen. I like the variety of blues. When I enlarged the picture, I could see the thicker application of white paint around the pattern fabric. It all really works! Whenever I visit second hand stores with my daughter, I am on the lookout for fabric for you. I thought it would be easier to find unique patterns, but I discovered as you did that it isn't just hanging around everywhere!

This is beautifully painted.
