6 x 6, oil on canvas panel SOLD
Went hunting for some more patterned fabric and
instead found 3 of these colored glass vases. Each
has a slightly different shape. This one is red, the
other 2 are green and turquoise.
I've been falling back into the the habit of painting
tight again so I made an effort to keep this one
looser. It's still a long way from where I would like
to be but at least it is looser than the past few.

Lovely one, Gwen. We have some of this pretty red glass and cobalt blue glass that looks so intimidating I'd never try to paint it. You've done a beautiful job with yours.
This is gorgeous Gwen. The red color is so rich and striking. And I can't believe I missed "Yellow Teapot". Everything about that painting worked. When paintings work that well, I wouldn't worry too much about the looseness. And actually, when I enlarged the picture, it didn't look all that tightly painted. I know what you mean though. Sometimes I want to give myself a three inch house painting brush, tie my right hand behind my back, and cover one eye. Maybe then I will learn how to let go!
Your vase is beautiful and translucent. And your fabric is so nicely painted. Lovely!
Such a sweet little piece Gwen! Love your patterned florals - and really captured the transparency of the red vase! And the tablecloth flowers mimic the real flower so well.
BEAUTIFUL I love the red and the fabric is great.
Wonderful job.
Another winner, pretty patterned material that goes perfectly with the vase and flower.
What a lovely painting...look forward to the next one.
I think that painting the vase from that viewpoint would be difficult, but you handled it very well. It looks very translucent--and very beautiful!
Very nice work once again, Gwen! Love how you can handle the pattern on the cloth.
Welcome to the club...the battle to stay loose. I seem to fight that with every painting I do. You do very well with it.
Another charmer! But, you know, I have mixed feelings about looseness vs. tightness. Some of my favorite paintings are done with a fairly tight hand. Let it be what it needs to be, and sometimes that might be "tight." I have never fully understood the sanctions against that quality. There are some "loose" painters who make me feel I'd like to slap them and tell them to quit being in such a hurry:-)
Very nice one Gwen.
Now waiting for the red sign.
Such a beautiful painting Gwen! Superb use of light and a great combo with table cloth! :)
Your color-themed paintings are so successful, Gwen! The vase is just exquisite.
Another wonderful painting! It reminds me of my recent visit to an Antique store where they had the same color vase. Nicely done!
Gwen, this is a very pleasing and eloquent piece.
Kudos, you are certainly exploring the depth of your talent. Very nice job on this Gwen. Love red glass myself, have a small collection of different glassware!
Wow, beautiful job on the red glass.
Wow, you're good. This is pleasing on so many levels, so rich and lovely. I love the transparent treatment of the vase, beautiful job!
Very beautiful, Gwen. Great job with the transparency of the red glass vase.
I think the floral cloth ties everything together.

Nicely done... I am enjoying the way you seemed to have done several of these paintings in a color themed way.
