"Sliced Pears"

6 x 6 oil on canvas panel SOLD

Got this new little white bowl that is just the right
size for my usual 6X6 paintings. I think the fruit looks more
like a
New Potato than a pear because of the rounded
shape in the
bowl and the splotches on the skin. It was
one of the same pears I used in "Pear Pair" so it was...how
should I put this? Let's just say it was really ripe.

Deliquescing Jala? Now that is indeed painting with words. I love this group and your delectable pears Gwen, which radiate a salacious image of pluperfect plenitude. Whew, that's all I got.

I saw this painting first on someone's artist sidebar (can't remember who) and was immediately drawn to it. The composition works great, and it passes the thumbnail test!

Those are definitely not potatoes. I was going to say how much I love your reflections on the surface and on the bowl, but it's been said already. So, I'll just say I agree with all here; very well done, Gwen.

Very nice painting. Funny, you mentioned replacing the sun painting. So much of my motivation to paint is because I want to replace the previous painting on my blog!

Great pear painting. I like the fact that the pear is "mature". Lovely.
