Here's this months assignment for Karin Jurick's
DSFDF. I put it off thinking "oh no, my astigmatism..."
but once I got going I enjoyed the abstract shapes.

"Grapes"

This is another painting for the Vineyard client.
The colors are so much better in person. The grapes
that look faded aren't. They are all quite vivid.
I took the battery out of my camera to charge and
when I put it back in it wasn't taking good pictures
anymore. This has happened before. I need to
download new "filmware" or something like that.

Anyway, I'm pleased with the way this turned out.
I took it from one of the photos provided by the client.
It is a really beautiful place and I'm looking forward to
doing more paintings in the weeks and months ahead.

"Vineyard I"

A Vineyard is interested in buying my work! I'm very excited about working with them! This first painting was more of a "test" preliminary to see what style I wanted to use and if the owner liked the interpretation of their reference. They liked it so I'm off and running!

I just realized it's been nearly 2 weeks since I've posted anything
new. That's terrible! My big excuse is that I have a horrible
case of Poison Ivy all over my face and have been too ugly to get
out in public to buy supplies. Envision The Elephant Man with his eyes
swollen shut. Went to get a couple of steroid shots yesterday and a
child in the doc's office actually GAWKED and cried in a tiny, horrified
voice "Mommy! What's wrong with that lady's FACE?!!" Humiliating?
Quite. I told her in a nice,sweet voice "It's ok. I just haven't been
eating my vegetables." That'll teach her!Her Mom just smiled and
mouthed "Thank you!".
