"Red Tea Cup"

This is the first of 3 cups I'm doing for a commission.
I've painted this one before and posted it as one of my
first paintings on the blog. I also posted a blue one I'll
be painting again. The last of the 3 will be a yellow one.

It's good to be able to look back at the other 2 and see
progress. I fell back to a tighter style here, but the actual
shape and values are, I feel, an improvement to the first tries.
I'm especially pleased with the metallic areas.

Meet my new Muse, Mr. Duck McQuakers. He's been staring at
me for a while now and begging to be painted. I have a series
of paintings in mind that will feature him. He looks like a Duck,
sounds like a Duck(doesn't walk like a Duck because he doesn't
have any feet)...but he's not a Duck. He's a HAM!

My submission for Karin Jurick's DSFDF. I didn't
participate last time. But this subject is near and dear
to my heart. I love cupcakes almost as much as
Watermelon. My inner 4 year old wants cupcakes for
every meal. I do my best to control her but must admit
she wins way too often! SNARF!
