"Broken Egg"

6x6 oil on masonite SOLD

I just realized that I've been posting on this blog for
nearly a year and haven't painted the blog Still Life
standby: The Broken Egg. The shell on this was one of the
darkest I've seen on a brown shelled egg. One other subject
I haven't done is a Landscape. Probably because I did so
many when I was painting Murals. They lost their appeal.
Love seeing other painter's Landscape work, but I'm not
quite over it yet.

Don't let his cuteness fool you. This is a dog with an
ATTITUDE! He belongs to my best friend, Clara. She
rescued the little criminal from Death Row a few years
back when he was an unrepentant escape artist. His previous
owners gave up on him as "a bad dog" and put him in a shelter
where he was ultimately given a reprieve by the perfect person
to recognize and appreciate him for his unyielding curiosity and
free spirit. He now lives the Life of Riley in her beautiful home
with a Dog Heaven back yard and all the squirrels he can chase.
No more escape attempts from this ex-con. He's whip-smart
and knows how to appreciate a good thing when he's got it!
