"Vineyard I"

16X12 oil on canvas
SOLD

A Vineyard is interested in buying my work! I'm very excited about working with them! This first painting was more of a "test" preliminary to see what style I wanted to use and if the owner liked the interpretation of their reference. They liked it so I'm off and running!

I just realized it's been nearly 2 weeks since I've posted anything
new. That's
terrible! My big excuse is that I have a horrible
case of Poison Ivy all over my
face and have been too ugly to get
out in public to buy supplies. Envision The
Elephant Man with his eyes
swollen shut. Went to get a couple of steroid shots
yesterday and a
child in the doc's office actually GAWKED and cried in a
tiny, horrified
voice "Mommy! What's
wrong with that lady's FACE?!!" Humiliating?
Quite. I told her in a nice,sweet voice "It's ok. I just haven't been

eating my vegetables." That'll teach her!Her Mom just smiled and
mouthed
"Thank you!".

Boy your vineyard art would be hot hot hot in all the vineyards around here. I'm so glad that vintner knew great art when he sees it! Congrats Gwen!!

Gwen, Love this composition. That almost monochromatic background creates a really energetic contrast with the vineyard foreground. It might be the blue/orange combo, but I think it's also the high/low chroma combo that sets it off. Wonderful piece, like a well-rounded meal. It's all there.

This is absolutely beautiful, Gwen! Wonderful job with the clouds and love the rich colors of the foreground. Congratulations on getting a patron for your art!
I'm so sorry to hear about the poison ivy, I know how terribly unpleasant that is -- I once had a goat on a leash that all of a sudden decided to take off down a hill and right through a LARGE poison oak bush dragging me behind him. (I like what you said to the kid - heh-heh-heh)
