"Tweedles"

6 x 6 oil on masonite SOLD

Update on Tweedles: She just sold to her owners!
I'm so pleased to know this precious little girl's
Portrait
will be hanging in her own home.

Here's Tweedles! I guess Tweedles is a girl, hence
the bright pink sweater. Or else he's very
confident. She's dog #3 and the final one of

James Parker's "WindowTo The Word Art"
assignments that I'm going
to submit.

What is it about Pugs? They are so ugly, but so darn
cute at the same time. Those enormous Locust Eyes, the
Squatty Body, the Little Napoleon Attitude...they must be
great dogs because a lot of people have them in multiple.
Or as fellow Artist, Kelley McDonald, calls it "MPS" (Multiple Pug
Syndrome). Everyone I see walking them has 2 if not 3 or 4.

Hi Gwen - isn't this the cutest little pug? The entire time I was painting my little painting of Tweedles, I kept wondering if the character E.T. was modeled after pugs. I've painted other pugs before, but there was something special about Tweedles that made me think of E.T.

Your painting is beautiful, love the subtle lavender gray shadow under her little ear!

Absolutely beautiful job on this. The eyes are incredible, both in their shine and expression. Also very great depth and sense of dimension to this piece. Kudos

you've done a great job with this Gwen, the light in his eyes, the blues, the fur.

Hahahaha-I love that pug's expression!

Great job on this one, Gwen!

Very detailed and precise looking for such a small painting.

Nice job on the glossy eyes.

The small, choppy brushstrokes give a sense of short fur on the dog. Great job with that!

A wonderful little portrait!

What a wonderful job of capturing this dogs personality. I have a neighbor with 3 that get out every once and a while and have come over to visit. They are so cute. Heavy little things.
Beautiful brushwork and reflective color. Texture is perfect.

Beautiful Work, Gwen. Tweedles and Hanna are happily posted and linked to WTTW and chewing on a pork chop.

I came to your blog to compliment your DSFDF piece - and look! It's Tweedles! I do take exception, being a pug-mom, about the whole 'ugly' comment... ;) You did a beautiful job - her eyes are luminous! And I have noticed the whole multiple-pug syndrome, too, and am trying desperately to deny it!

I just can't believe how many pugs I'm seeing since Kelley got Paco.
A guy down the street from me is a Pug rescue foster home and he is always walking two!
This is right on!

We wanted to thank you for the wonderful job that you did, and tell you how much it ment to us, that you picked me to paint, (of course among the others dogs too.)
I personally wanted to say thank you. You are an amazing artist. You brought me to life in that painting. Yup, I am a girl. I am 11 iches tall and weigh 11-12 pounds. I am happily spoiled.
